Pollution

Aerial firework explosions release toxic gases and fine particulate matter into the air which then lands on the ground and pollutes nearby water sources. These toxic gases include carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, and nitric oxide. Toxic airborne dust is also released from the heavy metals used to create the bright colors in firework displays. Not to mention the physical litter and debris left behind.
